My Blog Income Report: How I Made My First $9.25

Heads up! This post contains some affiliate links. If you shop through them, at no extra cost to you I might earn a little something—like a virtual high-five! I only share products I genuinely believe in and think you’ll love too.

There is something so inspiring about reading a blog income report!

You get to see where someone started, what worked, what didn’t, and how their progress looked in real time instead of some perfect success story told after the fact.

That is exactly why I am starting this series from my very first dollar. Not when I hit a major milestone. Or when things look shiny and impressive. Right now at the beginning while the numbers are tiny but the intention is huge.

If you are new here, hey! I’m Sheraine, and I’m a home decor blogger who used to run a full Airbnb business with over twenty five properties.

It was a lot of chaos, a lot of learning, and a lot of decorating…

Honestly the decorating part was always my favorite. Creating layouts. Styling rooms. Figuring out the flow of a space. Making small spaces feel intentional and beautiful. That’s what I genuinely enjoyed the most.

But here is the truth, I realized I’m a homebody! I love solving problems and I love the business side of things but being physically in the field nonstop is not my ideal lifestyle. I like being home, creating, and I like designing. So Host + Home Co. was born and this blog lets me take all the parts of that old business I loved and leave the pieces I did not want to carry anymore.

Now my goal is simple, Build a blog that earns six thousand dollars a month consistently.

Right now the amount I have made is exactly zero dollars in blogging income. Well, technically not zero anymore, but basically… Listen, this is the version of a blog income report you almost never get to read because most people start sharing after they already hit big months. I want mine to feel real from day one so you can see the progression and honestly so I can look back and see the journey clearly.

Let’s talk about everything from the top because if you love reading an honest blog income report this one is going to feel like your new fav!

How This Blog Started

My first official blog post went up on June 30th 2025.

I posted it on the very last day of the month so I just count that as five full months in. As of today which is Monday, December 1, 2025. I’m exactly at seventy six (76) blog posts published. I wrote casually in the first few months but November is the month where something finally clicked. I wrote almost every single day except two days.

Consistency finally started to feel normal instead of like a chore.

Along with posting daily I have also been pinning on Pinterest using their built in scheduler. I make sure to hit one hundred pins queued every day. It sounds like a lot but when you pin five new pins per post and everything else is already scheduled out it becomes pretty simple.

This blog is centered around interior design, small spaces, hosting tips, Airbnb hosting, home styling, decor mood boards, and honestly, anything that helps you make your home feel intentional and beautiful. I include Amazon finds in almost every post because I truly use Amazon for everything. It is the easiest and most realistic option for most readers and for me as a creator.

The Part Everyone Wants to Know: My First Blogging Income

My total earnings as a brand new blogger so far are:

$9.25  from Amazon Associates.

It is tiny, BUT that tiny amount is the exact confirmation I needed that this can work. Proof of concept is everything. Once you earn your first dollar online the entire mindset shifts. It suddenly feels possible.

Since Amazon Associates gives you six months to make three qualifying sales before they approve your account I signed up a little too early. I signed up before I had real traffic or a true posting rhythm (which I do not recommend).

I ended up making my three sales right at the finish line! My first sale came on November 3rd. My second sale on November 6th. And my third sale on November 16th, which also happened to be my birthday :)! That sale pushed me over the approval line…

When I checked again I realized I made an additional sale on November twenty first which brought me to a total of nine dollars and twenty five cents with three orders.

I have 2,163 clicks and a conversion rate of 0.28%.

I’m giving you the exact numbers because so many blog income report posts online speak vaguely and skip the details. I want this to feel raw and honest because early numbers matter just as much as the big ones!

Another important note is that you do not actually receive Amazon Associates earnings until you hit ten dollars. So technically I have not been paid yet. This amount will roll over into the next month and Amazon pays out roughly sixty days later once the sales clear their return window.

So even though this post is about my first blog income report, I have not cashed out any blogging income yet. That is the reality of starting…

Pinterest Growth and Blog Traffic So Far

My analytics story is a little weird. I started my blog while living in Peru and then moved back to the United States and I think this messed with my traffic.

Right now I am at 1.2k sessions but a huge chunk of that is traffic from China and Singapore. It is not real traffic which means I cannot really see my true audience yet but even with all of that noise, I crossed the one thousand session mark in November.

That meant I was able to apply for Journey by Mediavine.

I applied at 1.1k sessions because I know my content will continue growing! I don’t want to wait, I wanted my application in so that when my real traffic increases, their team already has my site in review.

Exactly What I Focused on During My First Five Months

I kept things incredibly simple.

I only had one affiliate program which was Amazon. Every single blog post had at least one Amazon affiliate link.

I made sure the link was relevant to the post so it felt natural and helpful. This alone brought me my first small sales.

I also took the by Sophia Lee blogging course and let me tell you this course is worth every penny! It gave me clarity on keyword research, SEO basics, site structure, formatting, blog post strategy, and the correct way to build a profitable blog from day one.

Her course is not overcomplicated which makes it perfect for beginners. It gives you the foundation you need without overwhelming you with fluff.

I know some income report creators take multiple courses, but honestly I only took hers in the beginning and it was exactly what I needed. From there, I continued researching, practicing SEO, applying tips, and writing daily. You truly learn by doing.

Where the Blog Stands Right Now

Here are the real numbers for this first blog income report.

5 months in.

76 posts.

1.2k sessions.

$9.25 earned.

4 total orders.

A consistent daily posting schedule.

A consistent Pinterest schedule.

A clear niche built around home decor, hosting, small spaces, and Amazon finds.

A growing library of helpful content.

And a clear long term goal of $6k dollars a month.

It does not feel glamorous yet but it feels real. You do not instantly blow up as a home decor blogger. It takes time and consistency and strategy, and a wholeee lot of writing!! But I love the process and that matters more than anything.

What I Want to Improve Next Month

Backlinks are my main focus moving forward.

I want to build authority faster so I plan to seek backlink opportunities, post more strategically, and continue writing daily. I also want my conversion rate to improve, and my traffic to reflect my real audience instead of random spam traffic…

Also I want to get more intentional with my SEO structure. My keyword research is getting stronger and every month I feel like my writing becomes more natural and more aligned with what people are actually searching for.

Final Thoughts on My Blog Income Report

This marks the beginning of a long series… I want these posts to feel like a trail you can follow. A real timeline that captures every month from the very beginning.

If you’re a new blogger or thinking about starting one hopefully this gives you encouragement. Everyone starts somewhere and this is where I am starting 🙂 !

With $9.25 earned. 76 posts written, imperfect traffic, and a strong intention for the future.

I will be sharing my next blog income report soon, and I cannot wait to see what changes…

If this inspired you, save it to come back next month and feel free to follow along as the numbers grow.
